NEWPORT, R.I. (AP) - No. 2 seed Vince Spadea jumped to an early lead and overcame unusually windy conditions to advance to the semifinals of the Hall of Fame Tennis Championships, beating Dusan Vemic, 6-3, 6-4 on Thursday.
 
Cermak ousts Stepanek at Swiss Open

U.S. Open sees prize money up $550,000

WHITE PLAINS, N.Y. (AP) - Total U.S. Open prize money is rising more than $550,000 from last year to at least $17.74 million, and the men's and women's singles champions will each get a record $1.1 million.
 
Nadal, Ferrero win at Swedish Open
