Judge OKs edited Earnhardt contract

LEXINGTON, N.C. (AP) - The public will be allowed to review an edited version of Dale Earnhardt's contract introduced as evidence in a lawsuit against an insurance company that denied a $3.7 million claim in his death, a judge ruled Tuesday.

The shiny Craftsman toolbox, carried by two Charlotte-Mecklenburg police officers in their dress blue uniforms, was the container Tuesday for a bid submitted by Charlotte-area leaders hoping to land a NASCAR Hall of Fame. They face competing bids from Atlanta; Kansas City, Kan.; Richmond, Va.; and Daytona Beach, Fla.
 
Gordon meant no disrespect of Patrick

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (AP) - Robby Gordon was not being critical of Danica Patrick when he said she had an unfair weight advantage in the Indianapolis 500. Rather, he said he was simply discussing a flaw in the Indy Racing League's rules.
