NASCAR drivers duel in the dirt

ROSSBURG, Ohio (AP) - Jeff Gordon prepared Wednesday for a trip down memory lane, returning to Eldora Speedway, a half-mile dirt track carved out of farmland in western Ohio where he raced as a youth. Gordon, Tony Stewart and other top NASCAR drivers accustomed to dueling each other on asphalt, were at Eldora for a charity race organized by Stewart.
 
Fans, friends pay respects to France

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. (AP) - Kathie Salemme and her family are die-hard NASCAR fans, planning their vacations around the racing schedule. Wednesday, the family traveled to pay their respects to NASCAR trailblazer Bill France Jr., a man Salemme never met but considered an integral part of her family's success.
