INDIANAPOLIS (AP) - Indianapolis Motor Speedway officials were as outraged as fans by the abrupt withdrawal of all but three Formula One teams on Sunday, putting the future of the U.S. Grand Prix at the world's most famous race track in question.
 
Michelin tells teams not to race on tires

INDIANAPOLIS (AP) - The United States Grand Prix was in jeopardy hours before its scheduled start Sunday because tiremaker Michelin advised the seven Formula One teams it supplies not to compete because of safety concerns.
