NEW PALTZ, N.Y. (AP) - Heavyweight boxing champion Floyd Patterson was recalled as a humble and giving man Saturday at a memorial service in the Hudson Valley.

INDIANAPOLIS (AP) - What's hailed today as innovation is discarded tomorrow as junk. It's inevitable. Offenhauser, Miller, Duesenberg, Cosworth, all dominant racing engines of their times, gave way to superior products. Chevrolet, Buick, Menard, Judd, Oldsmobile, Infiniti, Toyota all had their days, too.
