Thousands protest ruling on Hawaii schools

HONOLULU (AP) - Blowing conch shells and chanting Hawaiian prayers, some 15,000 people marched through downtown Honolulu Saturday to protest a federal court ruling striking down Kamehameha Schools' Hawaiians-only admissions policy as unlawful.

MOUNT PLEASANT, Pa. (AP) - Motorists filling up in this borough are allowed to pump their own gas _ but only if they're supervised by an attendant. It's been this way for three decades, ever since a motorist overfilled a car tank, sending some 50 gallons of gas into storm sewers. As a result of the rule, almost everybody lets an attendant do the work, resulting in de-facto full-service stations.
