Ramsey suspect lands in Los Angeles

LOS ANGELES (AP) - John Mark Karr, the suspect in the killing of 6-year-old JonBenet Ramsey, arrived late Sunday after a 15-hour flight from Thailand on which he sipped champagne, dined on fried king prawns and roast duck, and exchanged what he described as "small talk" with law enforcement escorts.

MIDLOTHIAN, Texas (AP) - Three police officers and a state trooper were shot and wounded Sunday afternoon and the alleged gunman died of an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound, ending a standoff that lasted more than eight hours, police said.
 
Man confesses to killing 7 in Missouri

DREXEL, Mo. (AP) - A Missouri man who police say confessed to killing, dismembering and burning the bodies of seven men in his bedroom fireplace was charged Sunday with one count of murder. Michael Lee Shaver Jr., 33, was charged with first-degree murder and armed criminal action related to a killing around the fall 2001.

NEW YORK (AP) - A Manhattan lot where a town house stood until a suicidal doctor blew it up to avoid selling it in a divorce settlement is on the market for $8 million. Florrie Milan, a broker with Brown Harris Stevens, said Sunday there has been "a lot, a lot, a lot of interest" in the 20-by-100-foot lot on East 62nd Street.
