Gateway plans to cut expenses, employees

IRVINE, Calif. (AP) - Gateway Inc. said Thursday it planned to cut $20 million to $25 million in expenses and lay off more employees despite a tax benefit that helped the struggling computer maker turn a profit in the fourth quarter.
