In the future, your car might not start if you're drunk _ and it might automatically call a cab, notify your spouse and even reschedule business appointments early the next morning. That sobering vision of things to come could also include the ability to read important e-mails and other vital messages on television, wireless telephone or computers at work and at home.

Apple chip switch opens new world for Macs

Nokia, Intel to cooperate on connections

HELSINKI, Finland (AP) - Nokia Corp., the world's leading mobile phone maker, announced Friday that it will join forces with the world's largest chip maker, Intel Corp., to provide handset users faster voice and data services, including high-speed broadband connections to the Internet.
 
Google, Yahoo seen boosted by ad surge

NEW YORK (AP) - Shares of Internet search rivals Google Inc. and Yahoo Inc. rose Thursday, helping to lift the broader technology sector after an analyst report suggested that total online advertising could reach $12.4 billion this year.
