SAN FRANCISCO (AP) - Dell Inc.'s announcement that it will expand its use of Advanced Micro Devices Inc. microprocessors is another win for the smaller chip maker against larger rival Intel Corp.

DALLAS (AP) - Dell Inc. on Thursday posted disappointing second-quarter earnings amid a regulatory probe. The company also announced an expanded partnership to put Advanced Micro Devices Inc. computer chips into a new line of Dell servers and desktop PCs as early as next month.

SAN JOSE, Calif. (AP) - Hewlett-Packard Co.'s stock surged to a new year high Thursday after the computer and printer maker reported a third-quarter profit that beat expectations, raised its fourth-quarter and full-year guidance and said its board had authorized a $6 billion share buyback.
