SANTA BARBARA, Calif. (AP) - Gemina, a giraffe with a distinctive crooked neck and one of the most beloved animals at the Santa Barbara Zoo, has died. She was 21. The zoo euthanized the animal on Wednesday, it was announced Thursday.

COTALO, Ecuador (AP) - Ecuador's Tungurahua volcano on Thursday hurled fiery rocks and sent a column of ash and steam 1 1/2 miles above its crater. Experts have warned that Tungurahua is poised for a major eruption within a matter of days or weeks.

Africanized honeybees found in Louisiana

NEW ORLEANS (AP) - Africanized honeybees have been found near Tioga, about eight miles north of Alexandria and 140 miles southeast of the Caddo Parish town where they were first discovered in Louisiana.
