Ark. scientist says fault activity unclear

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. (AP) - A researcher at the University of Arkansas says recent research showing a build up of strain in the New Madrid Seismic Zone is inconclusive because the tension can't be seen well enough to determine any earthquake hazard.
 
Size does matter in bats' evolution

SYRACUSE, N.Y. (AP) - For some male bats, sexual prowess comes with a price _ smaller brains. A research team led by Syracuse University biologist Scott Pitnick found that in bat species where the females are promiscuous, the males boasting the largest testicles also had the smallest brains. Conversely, where the females were faithful, the males had smaller testes and larger brains.
