PARIS (AP) - The world's leading climate scientists said global warming has begun, is "very likely" caused by man, and will be unstoppable for centuries, according to a report obtained Friday by The Associated Press.

MOSCOW (AP) - Russian and Chinese conservationists began searching Thursday for signs of the last remaining Amur leopards in Russia's Far East and adjacent Chinese border regions, as part of a triennial census of the nearly extinct cats.

WASHINGTON (AP) - Maps used to calculate flood danger in the U.S. rely on data that are decades out of date, according to a report that calls for a new national program to remap land levels. The National Research Council on Thursday proposed an "Elevation for the Nation" program to produce up-do-date data.
