STATE COLLEGE, Pa. (AP) - A mysterious illness is killing tens of thousands of honeybee colonies across the country, threatening honey production, the livelihood of beekeepers and possibly crops that need bees for pollination.

Swedish plant scientist Skovman dies

STOCKHOLM, Sweden (AP) - Bent Skovmand, a plant scientist who helped oversee the creation of a "doomsday vault" to house as many as 3 million of the world's crop seeds in case of disaster, has died. He was 61.
