Russia's Soyuz docks at space station

KOROLYOV, Russia (AP) - A Russian spaceship carrying a U.S.-Russian crew and an Italian astronaut docked Sunday at the international space station, launching a mission that paves the way for the first U.S. space flight to the orbiting outpost since the Columbia explosion two years ago.

Michigan works to restore moose population

MICHIGAMME, Mich. (AP) - Known only as Moose No. 173, she wandered for years in the swamplands and forests of Michigan's far north before dropping dead at the foot of a black spruce tree and disappearing over the next week beneath a blanket of snow. Yet even in death, she has a final scientific mission to perform. Guided to the spot by the radio collar around 173's neck, researchers are performing a necropsy to determine the cause of death and gather other information about the unfortunate cow.

Fuel problem ends NASA test mission

LOS ANGELES (AP) - A NASA robotic spacecraft located a Pentagon satellite in space without any help from human controllers, but the mission ended early when the computer-driven craft detected a fuel problem, the mission manager said Saturday.
