Cassini finds hydrocarbons on Titan

PASADENA, Calif. (AP) - A close flyby of Saturn's big moon Titan by the international Cassini spacecraft revealed an upper atmosphere brimming with complex organic material, a finding that could hold clues to how life arose on Earth, scientists said Monday.

Grasshopper infestation hits S.D. ranchers

HOT SPRINGS, S.D. (AP) - Ranchers have enough to worry about as drought stunts growth in their pastures, without having to deal with a new threat: an early season grasshopper that's eating new grass on rangeland west of Hot Springs.

Russian capsule returns from space station

ARKALYK, Kazakhstan (AP) - A Russian space capsule parachuted to a soft landing on the slushy Kazakh steppes Monday, gently depositing an American, Russian and Italian back on Earth after their mission on the international space station _ the last flight before NASA relaunches the shuttle program as soon as next month.

Study: Zinc improves memory of 7th-graders

GRAND FORKS, N.D. (AP) - Zinc improved the memory of seventh-graders who took part in the research, a study found. A total of 209 of them were involved in a study at the federal Human Nutrition Research Center in Grand Forks from 2002 through 2004.
