Atlantis crew reunites with families

HOUSTON (AP) - Atlantis' seven astronauts reunited with their families in Texas on Saturday, a day after the space shuttle capped a two-week mission with a perfect landing in the Mohave Desert. Sunita "Suni" Williams was especially happy to return to Earth after spending more than six months at the international space station.

41 seal pups die of distemper in Denmark

COPENHAGEN, Denmark (AP) - An outbreak of distemper has been killing seal pups off the coast of Denmark, authorities said Saturday, warning that thousands of seals could die if the disease spreads to other northern European countries.

BOSTON (AP) - The Gakkel Ridge, encased under the frozen Arctic Ocean, is steep and rocky, and scientists suspect its remote location hosts an array of undiscovered life. Researchers hope newly developed robots will give them their first look at the mysterious ridge located between Greenland and Siberia.
