SALT LAKE CITY (AP) - If it weren't for the hot rocks down below Earth's crust, most of North America would be below sea level, report researchers who say the significance of Earth's internal heat has been overlooked.

PARIS (AP) - Aldo looks, eats and lazes like a hippopotamus _ but the 3-week-old is only about as long as a human baby _ 21 inches. The pygmy hippo, born June 5 at the Paris Zoo, is one of only a few dozen in Europe, bred in a special program to boost the rare species.
