Fossett, copilot re-create historic flight

CLIFDEN, Ireland (AP) - Commemorating a record-setting flight 86 years ago, adventurer Steve Fossett and his copilot successfully flew a biplane across the Atlantic and landed Sunday on an Irish golf course to the cheers of 2,000 onlookers.

TOKYO (AP) - Japanese coast guard officials said Sunday they believe an underwater volcanic eruption has caused a 3,300-foot high column of steam to rise from the Pacific Ocean near Iwo Jima.
