CONWAY, S.C. (AP) - It may not have the beauty of a waterfall or waves crashing on the beach, but few places on the Southeast shore can match the variety found inside the mysterious shallow depressions along the coastal plains called Carolina Bays.
 
Chinese leader, orbiting astronauts chat

BEIJING (AP) - President Hu Jintao talked Saturday with two Chinese astronauts on their fourth day in orbit and wished them a "triumphant return" on national television, but there was no confirmation of when they might land after a mission meant to affirm Beijing's status as a rising power.
 
NASA: Shoddy work likely caused foam loss

CAPE CANAVERAL, Fla. (AP) - Inadequate methods of applying and repairing foam on the space shuttle's fuel tank probably contributed to the dangerous loss of a chunk of the insulation during Discovery's launch 2 1/2 months ago, a NASA investigation team concluded Friday.
