Group: Lake Erie gets sewage overflows

COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) - At least 8.9 billion gallons of untreated sewage flows yearly into Lake Erie and the rivers that feed it during storms that overwhelm sewer systems _ the same as if 2.5 billion toilets flushed simultaneously into the lake, an environmental group reported Wednesday.
 
Possible miniature solar system discovered

LOS ANGELES (AP) - Astronomers have discovered what they believe is the birth of the smallest known solar system. Peering through ground- and space-based telescopes, scientists observed a brown dwarf _ or failed star _ less than one hundredth the mass of the sun surrounded by what appears to be a disk of dust and gas.
