FDA: Rotavirus vaccine may harm infants

WASHINGTON (AP) - The government warned on Tuesday of potentially life-threatening twisting of the intestines in infants vaccinated against a virus that is the leading cause of early childhood diarrhea. The condition, called intussusception, is the same that led to the withdrawal of the first rotavirus vaccine eight years ago.

Heart transplant patients celebrate life

HOUSTON (AP) - Eddie Knipp's two heart transplants have given him the wisdom to savor the small wonders of life and the strength to endure one of its largest losses _ the death of a child. On Tuesday, Knipp and nine other heart transplant recipients celebrated more than 20 years of survival after surgery at the place that made it possible: the Texas Heart Institute at St. Luke's Episcopal Hospital.
