Bird flu confirmed at farm in Japan

TOKYO (AP) - A strain of bird flu has been detected in at a chicken farm in northeastern Japan, the government said Sunday, adding that the strain is not considered dangerous to humans.

NASA: Risk of ice striking shuttle low

CAPE CANAVERAL, Fla. (AP) - NASA officials believe the risk of potentially lethal pieces of ice flying off the external fuel tank and striking the space shuttle is low enough to proceed with plans for a mid-July launch of Discovery.
