Cows confined in Texas where disease found

LUBBOCK, Texas (AP) - Cattle will not be allowed to leave the Texas ranch that produced the nation's first homegrown case of mad cow disease, and government officials will work to find animals related to the sick cow, authorities said Thursday.

Bush seeks aid for Africa in malaria fight

GlaxoSmithKline plans to launch vaccines

PHILADELPHIA (AP) - GlaxoSmithKline PLC plans to launch five major vaccines over the next five years worth up to $18 billion, but still has no U.S. regulatory filing timeline for its much-touted cervical cancer vaccine, the company said Thursday.

Canada to ban bulk export of Rx drugs

WASHINGTON (AP) - As Canada moves toward a likely ban on exporting prescription drugs to the United States, it has declared one objective: taking care of its own. The Bush administration has cited drug safety as the main reason from banning pharmaceutical imports from Canada. Either way, the impact is the same: U.S. residents will pay higher prices for medications.
