CHICAGO (AP) - A $20 fitness gadget stood up to multiple research studies, helping people walk an additional mile each day _ but only if they logged their steps. Those who did lowered their blood pressure and lost a few pounds, an analysis found.

ATLANTA (AP) - For decades, heart disease death rates have been falling. But a new study shows a troubling turn _ more women under 45 are dying of heart disease due to clogged arteries, and the death rate for men that age has leveled off.
