CAPE CORAL, Fla. (AP) - A woman arrested for shoplifting has blamed the crime on irritable bowel syndrome, authorities said. Helen Gallo, 61, of Clearwater, was arrested Sunday after allegedly shoplifting from a Cape Coral grocery store, The Daily Breeze of Cape Coral reported.

BUDAPEST, Hungary (AP) - Five thousand rabbits blocked a highway Monday, tying up traffic after the truck that was carrying them collided with another vehicle and overturned. Neither driver was hurt, but some 500 rabbits were killed, authorities said.

WEST MONROE, La. (AP) - A West Monroe man is free on bond after an arrest for driving while intoxicated _ on a lawnmower. Ouachita Parish sheriff's deputies booked Larry Minniefield, 48, on one count of driving while intoxicated and driving an unsafe vehicle.

Seattle man charged in bizarre duck case

EVERETT, Wash. (AP) - A Seattle man has been charged with a slew of crimes that involved an alleged shoplifting, assaults and a pet duck named Mr. Peepers. Snohomish County Deputy Prosecutor Paul Stern on Thursday charged Kenneth Blaine Quinlan, 35, with two counts of third-degree assault and one count each of vehicular assault and hit-and-run.
