NEW YORK (AP) - A little help from sanitation workers probably saved Ron Goldstein a lot of explaining to his wife. The Staten Island man, who had tucked his wife's 3.5-carat diamond ring in a napkin for safe keeping while she was at the hospital, accidentally threw the ring in the trash.

ELDRIDGE, Iowa (AP) - Michelle Wetzell, who was adopted when she was 4 days old, wanted to find her birth mother. She didn't know it at the time, but all she had to do was look at the woman sitting behind the receptionist's desk in the hair salon where she worked.
