SURPRISE, Ariz. (AP) - Chan Ho Park is going to have to do a lot more than pitch six consecutive scoreless innings in the spring to make the Texas Rangers forget about his last three bad seasons.
No longer is there a guaranteed spot in the rotation for Park, even with two years and $27 million left on his contract. Plenty of skepticism remains even after retiring 18 of the last 19 batters faced his past two spring games.
"We'll see where it takes us," manager Buck Showalter said. "He's had good outings in spring training before. We'll see if he can stay with it and build on it."
