DENVER (AP) - A community college janitor pleaded guilty Friday to threatening the prosecutor and the accuser in the rape case against Kobe Bryant.
Cedric Augustine, 38, who appeared to be crying at times, admitted that he called District Attorney Mark Hurlbert in 2003 and threatened his life and that of the 20-year-old Colorado woman who accused the basketball star of rape.
A mental evaluation concluded Augustine was mildly retarded but able to make decisions for himself. U.S. District Judge Lewis Babcock chatted with him about baseball and his job to calm him during the hearing.
