Villanova's Fraser Leads Team to Sweet 16

Tuesday, March 22, 2005 8:48:48 PM
By DAN GELSTON

Villanova's Jason Fraser talks to a reporter before practice Tuesday, March 22, 2005, in Villanova, Pa. Fraser has battled back from a long list of injuries to become a valuable contributor for Villanova, and had 21 points and 15 rebounds in a 76-65 win over Florida Sunday. (AP Photo/George Widman)VILLANOVA, Pa. (AP) - Jason Fraser refuses to believe in bad luck or curse his misfortune — not even with his right hand bandaged because of a break two months ago. Not even with four surgical procedures, including three on his knees. Or even a suspension that kept him out of three games.

All Fraser cares about are his contributions in getting Villanova into the round of 16 for the first time since 1988. The biggest one so far? How about his 21 points and 15 rebounds against Florida in the second round of the NCAA tournament.

"Everything's moving in the right direction," Fraser said before Tuesday's practice.
