DURHAM, N.C. (AP) - Earle Wentz, a standout in football and baseball at Duke during the 1930s, died at 91.
He died Monday in Martinsville, Va., after a period of declining health, the university said Wednesday.
Wentz finished his college football career in 1934, helping the Blue Devils to a 7-2 record. He was a two-time All-Southern Conference selection and was Duke's Most Valuable Player as a senior.
