ALBANY, N.Y. (AP) - As a registered nurse in a hospital emergency room, Frank Coolidge has seen firsthand the suffering an automobile accident can cause. As a parent of two children ages 5 and 3, he and his wife take every precaution possible to ensure their kids are safe when their family travels.
So he had no problem buying two booster seats one for each of the family's cars for his oldest child in order to comply with a new state law. Starting Sunday, all children statewide ages 4, 5 and 6 were required to be restrained in approved car booster seats.
"I think it's a very good law," said Coolidge. "It's needed. It'll save kids."
