Money Funds Fell in Latest Week

NEW YORK (AP) - Assets of the nation's retail money market mutual funds fell by $2.16 billion in the latest week to $820.68 billion, the Investment Company Institute said Thursday.

Assets of taxable money market funds in the retail category fell by $7.0 million to $625.36 billion for the week ended Wednesday, the Washington-based mutual fund trade group said. Tax-exempt fund assets fell by $2.16 billion to $195.31 billion.

Assets of institutional money market funds fell by $9.25 billion to $1.074 trillion for the same period. Among institutional funds, taxable money market fund assets fell by $8.53 billion to $952.06 billion; assets of tax-exempt funds fell by $715.0 million to $122.30 billion.
