Bush to Address Soc. Sec. in W.Va., S.C.

Saturday, April 02, 2005 1:49:09 AM

WASHINGTON (AP) - President Bush, trying to dramatize Social Security's solvency problems, will travel to West Virginia next week to visit the agency responsible for keeping the books on the nation's debt.

Bush has been to 18 states in his campaign to overhaul the Social Security system and he will speak Tuesday in Parkersburg, W.Va., at the Bureau of Public Debt . The president also will talk about Social Security in Columbia, S.C., on Thursday and he will deliver a speech on terrorism Friday at Fort Hood, Texas.

The president will be away from Washington from Thursday until the following Tuesday, staying at his ranch in Crawford, Texas, except for his speaking appearances. He will meet at the ranch on April 11 with Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon.
