VICTORIA, British Columbia (AP) - The United States lost for the first time at the world curling championship, falling to Finland 7-5 in the last round of matches on Monday night.
Earlier, the Americans, led by skip Pete Fenson, rallied to defeat host Canada 8-7, after trailing 5-2 and 6-3.
Canada led 7-5 entering the 10th and final end, but the Americans scored three points when Canada's last shooter, Dave Nedohin, sailed his rock through the scoring area known as the house. Fenson did not need to take his final shot.
