NEW YORK (AP) - Tyco International Ltd.'s former lead outside auditor testified Tuesday that access to the company's books and records wasn't restricted in his time of conducting audits for Tyco.
Under questioning from defense attorneys, Richard Scalzo, of the accounting firm PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP, said the Bermuda conglomerate's former top executives, L. Dennis Kozlowski and Mark H. Swartz, didn't try to restrict his ability to share information with members of the company's board of directors or audit committee.
Scalzo said members of Tyco's management were excused from meetings of the audit committee so that the outside auditors could discuss any concerns they might have.
