Tokyo Stocks Edge Higher; Dollar Lower

Tokyo stocks ended higher Tuesday, buoyed by Wall Street's climb overnight and the U.S. dollar's strength against the Japanese yen and the euro.  The Nikkei Stock Average of 225 selected issues rose 106.77 points, or 0.92 percent, to close at 11,774.31 points.  The dollar was trading at 108.71 yen at 3 p.m. (0600 GMT), up 0.81 yen from late Monday in Tokyo. (AP Photo/Katsumi Kasahara)TOKYO (AP) - Tokyo stocks edged up Wednesday morning following Wall Street's strength. The dollar was trading lower against the Japanese yen and the euro.

The Nikkei Stock Average of 225 selected issues added 64.31 points, or 0.55 percent, to 11,838.62 at the end of morning trade. The index rose 106.77 points, or 0.92 percent, on Tuesday.

The dollar was trading at 108.13 yen at 11 a.m., down 0.72 yen from late Tuesday in Tokyo and unchanged from its level in New York later that day.
