DALLAS (AP) - The Dallas Mavericks' electrifying third quarter led to a 104-68 victory over the San Antonio Spurs, a win that prevented a season sweep by their division nemesis in a way that forced the stats crew to dig through the record books.
Dallas racked up its most lopsided win over San Antonio and tied the fewest points allowed in franchise history, while the Spurs endured their biggest rout since falling to Seattle by 38 in a meaningless finale in 2001. San Antonio also went 0-for-12 on 3-pointers, the most misses without a make in team history and just three shy of the NBA record.
Falling to his knees while looking at the wrong basket, Devin Harris flung a pass over his head. It bounced once and reached Keith Van Horn in stride, setting up an easy dunk.
