VALENCIA, Spain (AP) - Chile's Fernando Gonzalez and Spain's Rafael Nadal — the second- and third-seeded players — lost Friday in the Valencia Open quarterfinals.
Spain's Ivan Navarro Pastor defeated Gonzalez 6-7 (5), 6-4, 6-4, and Russia's Igor Andreev upset Nadal 7-5, 6-2.
Rain forced organizers to postpone until Saturday the two other quarterfinals, featuring four Spaniards: Alberto Martin vs. David Ferrer and Albert Costa vs. defending champion Fernando Verdasco.
