WARSAW, Poland (AP) - South Korea's LG Electronics said it agreed Monday to build a second plant for producing television sets in central Poland.
Under the deal, worth 85 million euros ($110 million), LG Electronics will construct a new plant next to its existing facility in the city of Mlawa by 2010. The new facility is to raise production from the current 1.5 million digital TV-sets per year to 6 million, the company said.
The new plant will offer over 2,100 jobs and with subcontractors will employ more than 5,000 people.
