LONDON (AP) - The U.S. dollar was stronger against other major currencies in European trading Tuesday. Gold prices were lower in Europe.
The euro was quoted at $1.2888 in European trading, down from $1.2956 Monday. Later, in midday trading in New York, the euro bought $1.2876.
Other dollar rates in Europe, compared with late Monday, included 108.27 Japanese yen, up from 107.84; 1.2025 Swiss francs, up from 1.1949; and 1.2394 Canadian dollars, up from 1.2330.
