BOSTON (AP) - Red Sox manager Terry Francona was ejected from Boston's game against the New York Yankees on Thursday night, three days after he returned from a four-game absence after experiencing tightness in his chest.
Francona was thrown out by home plate umpire Greg Gibson in the bottom of the fourth after Randy Johnson's low pitch to Bill Mueller was called a strike. In the top of the inning, Gibson ejected Boston hitting coach Ron Jackson after calling a 3-2 pitch to Gary Sheffield a ball.
The manager rushed out of the dugout then and was followed by Jackson, who was restrained by several Boston coaches.
