YORK, Pa. (AP) - Susquehanna Pfaltzgraff Co., a private company best known for its dishware, said Wednesday it was exploring the sale of most of its businesses, partly because no one in the family is prepared to take over.
The company said it was soliciting bids for its pottery business and its media division. A third division, Susquehanna Real Estate, is not expected to be part of any sale.
The Pfaltzgraff Co. subsidiary is the oldest continually operating pottery manufacturer in the United States. Its place settings and flatware have been a staple of wedding registries for decades.
