 BALTIMORE (AP) - Boston Red Sox hitting coach Ron Jackson was fined and suspended for Thursday night's game against the Baltimore Orioles for arguing a call last week.
Bob Watson, baseball's vice president for discipline, cited Jackson for "excessive arguing" during the April 14 game at Fenway Park with the New York Yankees.
Plate umpire Greg Gibson ejected Jackson in the fourth inning after a 3-2 pitch to Gary Sheffield was called a ball.
