SAN FRANCISCO (AP) - The San Francisco Giants activated outfielder Moises Alou from the 15-day disabled list before Friday night's game against the Milwaukee Brewers.
To make room on the roster, outfielder Tony Torcato was designated for assignment and the longtime San Francisco farmhand wasn't pleased with the probable end of his career with the Giants.
Alou had been out since April 8 with a strained right calf. He went hitless in six at-bats before getting hurt in his first season with the Giants, but he felt ready to return to the starting lineup Friday night despite cold, rainy weather.
