SAN FRANCISCO (AP) - The San Francisco Giants activated outfielder Moises Alou from the 15-day disabled list before Friday night's game against the Milwaukee Brewers.
To make room on the roster, outfielder Tony Torcato was designated for assignment — and the longtime San Francisco farmhand wasn't pleased with the probable end of his career with the Giants.
Alou had been out since April 8 with a strained right calf. He went hitless in six at-bats before getting hurt in his first season with the Giants, but he felt ready to return to the starting lineup Friday night despite cold, rainy weather.
