WASHINGTON (AP) - The backlog of IPOs waiting to be priced has declined compared with last year, an indicator of a worsening environment for bringing companies public.
There are currently 114 initial public offerings pending in the United States, worth a total of $20.9 billion, down from 160 deals worth a total of $29.1 billion at the same time last year, according to data tracker Dealogic.
On a week-by-week basis, the number of companies filing paperwork with the Securities and Exchange Commission to go public peaked at 13 in February. Last week, seven companies filed with the SEC to go public.
