TOKYO (AP) - The dollar was higher against the yen and the euro in Asian trading early Wednesday after news that new U.S. homes sales shot up 12.2 percent last month to the highest level in history.
The dollar was trading at 106.25 yen at 11 a.m. Wednesday, up 0.35 yen from late Tuesday in Tokyo and above the 105.97 yen it bought in New York later that day.
The euro fell to $1.2972 late Wednesday morning from $1.2983 late Tuesday but rose to 137.86 yen from 137.48 yen.
