NEW YORK (AP) - The Los Angeles Angels placed infielder Maicer Izturis on the 15-day disabled list Wednesday with a sprained left knee.
The team said it would fill Izturis' roster spot following Wednesday night's game against the Yankees. The move was made retroactive to Tuesday, when Izturis was injured while fielding ground balls during batting practice at Yankee Stadium.
"I think he landed a little awkward on his knee," Angels manager Mike Scioscia said.
