COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (AP) - Val Belmonte resigned as executive director of U.S. Figure Skating on Monday.
Belmonte held the position since October and will remain with the organization as a consultant.
"I thought that it was appropriate to step aside in advance of U.S. Figure Skatings governing council annual meeting to allow the new leadership the opportunity to rapidly execute its vision for the future of U.S. Figure Skating," Belmonte said.
