 CENTRAL ISLIP, N.Y. (AP) - John Rocker signed autographs before the game Wednesday night and received a mostly favorable greeting during pre-game introductions, but didn't pitch in the first home game of his minor league comeback with the Long Island Ducks.
The infamous left-hander didn't speak with reporters but released a statement.
"I'm happy to be here in front of the home fans, and it was nice to be welcomed so warmly," he said. "I'm looking forward to getting out there on the field and helping win some games."
